It's a New Year! New, New, New. Fresh, the sky's the limit, and so forth.... Being that it's a new year, and that I have just moved into a new studio space, I thought I would take a minute to give you all a little tour of the space. I love it so much! It has really rejuvenated my creativity, and most importantly given me a reason to feel like an adult again. Yep, a reason to get out of those yoga pants a few day's a week. (OK, yes I do wear yoga pants in the studio from time to time. But hey, I'm trying)
So, here it is. The main view of the room. It's a little loft space, located in downtown Highlands, NC. My dear friend Ashley Harlee, who owns CK Swan cleared out the attic/playroom of her sensational store, and offered it up! I of course gladly took her up on it. Honestly, Ashley has been such a big reason for Sugar's success. In the early day's, she purchased a lot of gifts and clothing for her daughter, and friends children. Not to mention, she was the first business to carry Sugar's wares. She has always been my cheerleader, and I am grateful to have her friendship. Not to mention we just have a dang good time together.
And here ya go folks, this lil' baby is what sews it all together. I know, a lot of you are saying; wait, there should be several machines...and what? no serger? No, I have not made that leap yet. Maybe this year will be the year. Maybe not? I love my little Bernina more than anything. Not once has she ever let me down. (Why is the song Lean on Me running through my head?)
My obsession. Fabric. It surrounds me everywhere. I love it and I can't get enough of it. That's all.
(Ooooo, wait until you see the new bolts rollin in)
My vision board. It's empty, I know. A clean slate for a New Year, and New Space. Can't wait to see what this next year holds for me! Stay Tuned......
