OK, In keeping with the New Years Fresh Start thing, I want to turn you guys onto a book I've been perusing. Small Change by: Susan and Larry Terkel. I stumbled upon it at my friend Natalies house, and for some reason it really resonated with me. I mean the title say's it all. It's the Little Things in life that matter.
So the book focuses on trying to make small changes instead of huge ones. Like, instead of, "I'm gonna lose 30 lbs", I'm gonna eat a healthy lunch, or I'm gonna walk for 15 minutes, or I'm gonna not eat that donut everyday. The little things add up after a time. It's about small things becoming a lifestyle change. I mean, I know I'm not the only person out there who say's; "I'm no longer gonna eat chocolate," only to shove it in my face two days later from lack of cocoa, and will power. Maybe instead saying, I'm gonna have one square a day, rather than a whole bar. Or a glass of wine, instead of a bottle. You get the idea. (One glass of wine???)
My test here was, "I'm gonna be more patient with Colin." Come on girls, you know what I'm saying! That's not always easy. But, I tried and after a week, it really did seem to be easier. (Except for when the underwear are lying NEXT TO the hamper. For the love of GOD!)
OK, so no soap box here. Just saying it's an interesting little book to have around. Good reference to keep you in check. Heck, just keep it in the bathroom, you can read and excerpt in that amount of time.
